TikTok prohibited in Pakistan

Tiktok App banned in Pakistan for the second time. Last year in October PTA had blocked the Chinese video-sharing app. However, Ten days later the PTA overturned its decision after it was told by TikTok that the app would Block all Accounts repeatedly involved in spreading obscenity and immorality.

The journalist and commentators Najam khan said that tiktok not banned because of immoral content, but because tiktokers are pingun of the great leader

The social network has faced numerous hurdles around the world recently. In January, HC Find that Videos uploaded on tiktok are not acceptable For Pakistani society. recently the app has been installed by over 40Million times in Pakistan.

The regulator’s spokesperson Khurram Mehran told Al-Jazeera that the Pakistan telecommunications authority PTA “will comply to court orders”

Tiktok  faces  bans around the world

The reasons for this bans are due to allegations of illegal content such as pornography and blasphemy by the governments of the respective countries

1-Indonesia-the country temporarily blocked the TikTok app on 3 July 2018 among the public concerned about illegal content such as pornography and blasphemy.

2-Egypt-five women were sentenced to two years in prison over TikTok videos on charges of violating public morals.

3- USA- on July 7 in the USA pentagon released a security warning concerning the Chinese app too.

4- India- on 29 June 2020, the ministry of electronics & information technology banned TIKTOK along with 58 other Chinese apps stating a threat to the sovereignty and security of the country after a military clash in Ladakh. TikTok is a short-form video app and it has amassed 1.5billions downloads. Its parent company is the Chinese tech company Byte Dance. CEO and founder of byte dance are Zhang Yiming. Tiktok net worth is $50 billion.
